His Atonement is Infinite

Last night we received a text from someone in our ward asking us to substitute for their class, they teach in the primary (the group the children belong to) and we said yes. Today, a comment from a child made me remember a principle that truly made my love for Christ grow even stronger. We were talking about worshipping at church and the importance of listening, praying, singing and partaking of the sacrament. One of the students raised their hand and asked: "Does Jesus still love my dad even though he doesn't come to church?" That was when I remembered studying the scriptures and learning about Christ and His infinite and perfect love for EVERYONE. I told the child with all the assurance in my heart that Jesus did love her father. This comment during class today is what urged me to write this post. I testify that Christ is not a respecter of persons, He is perfect and loves every single one of us perfectly without condition. Christ is able to love so perfectly because He suffered for us personally, He is the only one that has a perfect knowledge of our trials, our feelings, our fears, and our hopes.

All mankind was doomed, we needed a sacrifice that would save us, that would make us "at one" with God, that would reconcile us with the Father. If there was no sacrifice made, every time we would sin or do something offensive in God's eyes, the separation between man and God would grow bigger and bigger and nothing would be able to close that gap. "For it is expedient that there should be a great and last sacrifice; yea, not a sacrifice of man, neither of beast, neither of any manner of fowl; for it shall not be a human sacrifice; but it must be an infinite and eternal sacrifice...And behold, this is the whole meaning of the law, every whit pointing to that great and last sacrifice; and that great and last sacrifice will be the Son of God, yea, infinite and eternal." (Alma 33:10,14)

The Infinite Atonement of Jesus Christ is what allowed me to answer with such assurance to that child in class today. I know for myself that because Christ paid the ultimate price, because he suffered for every single person who lived, lives and will live on this earth, there is absolutely nothing we can do to make Him not love us. I urge anyone that believes they are "too far gone" or "too far from the path" to allow your Savior Jesus Christ reach out to you and show you His love. I urge anyone who feels like it is "too late" to repent and come back to Christ to kneel down and pray to God and Jesus Christ for help, ask them to make their love evident in your life once more. I believe that God is a perfect parent, Christ said:"Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?" (Matthew 7:9-11) I know that if we but ask God to make us feel closer to Him and feel His love and our Savior's love, that He will grant that unto anyone who asks.

I know that God listens, I know that He lives and that Jesus Christ is His son. I know that God loves us so much that He sent His son Jesus Christ to save us from falling, to bring us closer when we have drifted away, to fill in the gap when we have created one because of sin. Christ performed the Atonement, an infinite Atonement. There is absolutely nothing we can do, no decision we can make that will make Christ's love unreachable or unattainable.

"Because He lives, he, she, us, them, we, can all live again. Because of Him death has no sting, the grave no victory. We can start again and again and again. Because of Him guilt becomes peace, regret becomes relief, despair becomes hope. Because of Him we have second chances, clean slates, new beginnings. There is no such thing as the end."
